Brrrrr....

It's absolutely frigid outside, today.  -47C with windchill (that's -52.6 F).
It wouldn't be ridiculous if I were a polar bear, but while I have adapted some bearish characteristics (tell me it's not only me who fattens up a bit through winter), and I do tend to hibernate in the cold months, last time I looked--no fur.

What does any of this have to do with stitching?  Well, what better time to cozy up with a new pattern, and start stitching a spring piece.  That's what I'll do today.  Maybe find a Paula Vaughan pattern--quilts and flowers.

I love where my mind wanders, while I stitch.
I will dream of warmer days.

  1. Well, it's absolutely balmy here in SW Ontario compared to you... our temp is -25 with the windchill :-) I'm with you on the hibernation thing; and it's a perfect day to sit and stitch. Have fun picking out something new and "spring like" to stitch!

  5. Thanks for visiting. I loved cross stitching when I was a child. We did it in school. It is something I would like to take up again. Especially when I see the beautiful pieces you have done. Stay in touch, Sue.

  8. I've had a delightful visit Rose,
You made me giggle with your bear analogy...and I can relate to everything you say!
I've just returned from a Canadian Christmas holiday of -27C degrees to and Australian summer of todays temperature of 40C degrees!

I can imagine you sitting cosy with your quilting by a log fire....sigh.

Stay cosy and thanks for popping over to my place earlier. I'm off to party some more thanks to Vicki's invitation but I hope to come back soon :D
    Have fun!

  15. Hi Rose, I hope you found that perfect to stitch on while the weather outside is frightful. I don't do cold well at all. The owl you stitched is amazing. Wow! I used to do big projects like that with all the colors and backstitching, but now I stick with simple charts that can be finished fairly quickly. My eyes aren't what they used to be. And neither is my patience! I see that you've been rather sporadic in your blog posts. Hope you will keep up with it more in this new year. Wishing you all the best, Tammy
